Memorial's 64-slice CT (Computed Tomography) scanner by GE Medical Systems is capable of generating thousands of cross sectional images of the entire body within seconds. A specialized computer workstation generates 3 dimensional images and gives physicians an unprecedented view of internal anatomy.
 A CT Scan uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of structures inside of the body. The equipment offers unparalleled resolution combined with short scan times. The imaging technology is so advanced that, when required, images can be taken in as little as one second for a specific organ or 10 seconds to scan the entire body. In most cases, physicians order scans for specific regions of the body.
