At Memorial's Family Birth Place, our Labor, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) units blend state-of-the-art technology and the warmth of a home-like atmosphere to provide a comfortable, safe environment for one of the most exhilarating experiences in a family's life.

Care and compassion are the hallmarks of Memorial's highly skilled obstetric teams. With nearly 600 babies born each year, the Family Birth Place encourages mothers along the way, invites dads or support persons to share the experience, and promotes education. A wide variety of prenatal classes are provided by a talented team of labor and deliver nurses.

Moms can feel good knowing they are never alone. Our staff is here to assist you before, during and after delivery. The obstetricians delivering babies at Memorial Healthcare include Kurt Aurand, D.O. , Mario Chaves, M.D. 
and Jessica LaForest, M.D.

The Warmth of Home
To encourage you along the way, dad or a support person is invited to participate, too. We'll even provide a place to spend the night with mom and baby! Your friends and family can visit as often as you like in your own private room.

We Let You Choose!
Memorial offers a host of educational programs targeted to support you during your pregnancy. Our staff wants you to feel secure in your ability to care for your newborn and encourages questions. Our patient rooms also offer a variety of educational videos for you to view during your stay.

H.O.P.I.N.G (Helping Other Parents in Normal Grieving)
If you have experienced the loss of a child, or know someone who has, we invite you to join us for a time of sharing and support. HOPING meets the 4th Monday of each month from 7 p - 9 p in the Margaret S. Gulick Room at Memorial Healthcare (826 W. King, Owosso, MI 48867). For additional information, 989.723.5211, ext. 1533.
