Memorial Healthcare has embarked on an exciting undertaking to upgrade our Emergency Department facilities to keep pace with the growth in the need for emergency medical services.

“It’s time to move this ED into the 21st century by re-engineering its patient flow and improving everything from wait times to privacy.”  - Jim Nemeth, Chief Nursing Officer

Plans call for the creation of distinct treatment centers within the Emergency Department suited to the needs of each patient.  Each patient will be evaluated by a licensed paramedic and assigned to a to a treatment area, reducing wait time and initiating care more quickly.

“Right now, we don’t need a bigger ED.  We need one that is engineered for today’s patient and family, not what was state-of-the-art in the early 1990s.” - Ronald Bishop, DO, Chairman of Emergency Medicine

To learn more about the hospital’s multi-million dollar capital and operational investment in emergency medical services provided in the only Emergency Department in Shiawassee County, please view our 5 minute campaign video. that is posted above.

There is no question that community support for the emergency department will help to save and change peoples’ lives.  Thank you for your interest in providing the best for our patients.
