Wednesday, August 10 (2022) – Owosso, Michigan – With the start of the fall sports season, Dr. Ashraf Elbanna, Orthopedic Surgeon at Memorial Healthcare Center for Orthopedics, will once again host a Monday walk-in clinic to access orthopedic sports injuries for adolescent and high school athletes. This year, Certified Athletic Trainer Allan Goetzinger will join Dr. Elbanna in the evaluation and treatment of athletes.
This clinic will be held every Monday, starting August 15, and concluding October 17. Athletes will be seen on a walk-in basis from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Memorial Healthcare Center for Orthopedics, located in the NOW building at 819 N. Shiawassee Street in Owosso. In the event an injury arises Tuesday through Thursday, please call the office for advanced scheduling.
This clinic provides services to evaluate injuries, to help keep athletes healthy while getting them back on track. We are able to guarantee x-rays for immediate review and upon insurance authorization, patients can be scheduled for an MRI, CT scan or any other further imagining needs. This clinic allows for treatment at a more cost-effective rate rather than an emergency department visit.
Dr. Elbanna is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in orthopedic surgery and completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Elbanna has worked with national sports teams including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, University of Notre Dame, and Marygrove College. Allan Goetzinger is a licensed certified athletic trainer with 15 years of experience evaluating and treating athletes at Memorial Healthcare’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Department and Owosso High School. Educated at Central Michigan University, Allan has gained valuable experience with CMU wrestling, volleyball, and field hockey.
