Masking Update

April 6, 2023

To our Valued Memorial Healthcare Patients, Visitors, and Community Members:

We are delighted to announce that effective immediately, masks are no longer mandatory throughout the Memorial Healthcare system, with the following exceptions:

• Screening will continue when entering any Memorial Healthcare building/office.

• Visitors must wear a mask when visiting any patient under precautions for COVID-19.

• Masking is required when the patient/visitor is experiencing respiratory symptoms, pending COVID-19 testing or testing positive for COVID-19, or living with someone that is positive for COVID-19.

Our dedicated caregivers will continue to wear masks when in direct contact with a patient in our clinical areas but are no longer required to wear a mask in public areas of our facilities, including hallways, waiting rooms, cafeteria, waiting rooms, etc.

We understand how difficult it’s been for all of us during this pandemic, and we appreciate your compliance with our prevention strategies. If our patients, visitors, and caregivers feel more comfortable wearing a mask, they may continue to do so at any time. It’s also important to note that mask guidelines may change at a department or organization level at any time due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

Memorial Healthcare has been at the forefront of protecting our patients, visitors, and caregivers from the spread of COVID-19 during the pandemic and will continue to take all necessary precautions to provide a safe and healthy environment.
