Memorial Healthcare Recognized Among Best Hospitals for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report

Memorial Healthcare, an independent, community non-profit hospital in Shiawassee County, has been recognized by the U.S. News & World Report 2023-2024 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care ratings, offering expecting families options for seeking high-quality care for uncomplicated pregnancies.

Memorial Healthcare has also been granted the new designation for Maternity Care Access from U.S. News & World Report. Maternity Care Access Hospitals serve a community that depends on it for access to essential maternity care services. They are more critical than ever as a growing number of communities in the U.S. lack this type of care, increasing the number of maternity care deserts. Of the 680 hospitals reporting, Memorial Healthcare is among the top six percent in maternity care.

“This recognition as a hospital of choice among women and their families is an honor and a true testament to our devotion to our community at Memorial Healthcare,” said Brian Long, president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare. “Memorial continues to punch above its weight class and deliver stellar care, all while redefining what it means to be a community hospital. Recognition like this would not be possible without our maternity care providers and staff, who continue to exceed patient expectations.”

The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals for Maternity Care ratings program aims to help expecting families make informed decisions regarding where to seek maternity care. Rankings are determined by examining a multitude of factors, such as the number of scheduled early deliveries, C-sections, newborn complications, episiotomy rate, and more.

“We are incredibly proud and humbled to be recognized by the U.S. News & World Report. This achievement is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our dedicated team, whose passion and expertise ensure that every expectant mother at Memorial Healthcare receives exceptional care,” said Miranda Stoneman, BSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, HNB-BC, Manager of Memorial Healthcare’s Family Birth Place.
