Donation Enables Memorial Hospice to Purchase Lift Chairs

July 7, 2017

Patients of Memorial Healthcare Hospice now have access to three new lift chairs thanks to the generosity of the Owosso Eagles Club, Sobaks Home Medical and Goldentech.

Several times in the past few years, the Owosso Eagles Club has hosted Euchre tournaments, which raises money in order for Memorial Healthcare Hospice to purchases needed items for its patients.  This year the money raised enabled Memorial Hospice to purchase two lift chairs.

However, that’s not where the generosity ended. “When we placed the order with Tom Cleveland at Sobaks Home Medical, he informed us that Goldentech, the lift chair supplier, was impressed by the story of the chairs being purchased by donations for such a worthy cause,” says Connie Henige, Coordinator of Volunteers for Memorial Hospice. “The company joined in the spirit of generosity by donating a third lift chair at no cost.” Goldentech is one of the largest lift chair suppliers in the United States with all chairs made in the USA.

“We have been so blessed by Jaytee Morton, an Eagle’s member and Hospice volunteer, who  coordinates these Euchre tournaments on behalf of hospice,” adds Henige. “We have also been blessed by the generosity of Sobaks Home Medical and Goldentech.“

All three chairs have now been received by Memorial Hospice and are ready to be used — free of charge — to assist our hospice patients in their quality of life.
