Memorial Healthcare Ranks Among Top Hospitals in U.S. for Maternity Care

Owosso, MI – Dec 6, 2022 – Memorial Healthcare, has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading hospitals for maternity care by US News & World Report. The hospital ranked in the top 20% of Michigan hospitals to receive a “high performing” score, which is the highest possible rating.

A leading online resource for hospital rankings and information, US News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Maternity Care list recognizes hospitals across the country for providing high-quality care and experience for expected mothers and families.

To achieve a High Performing rating, a hospital had to score significantly higher than average on a combination of eight quality measures including C-section rates, newborn complication rates, breast milk feeding rates, early delivery rates and if a hospital offers vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Of the maternity data collected from 649 hospitals nationwide, only 297 (fewer than half) earned a High Performing rating.

“Patient care and safety is our number one priority, and I commend our entire team for their continued dedication to ensuring new mothers receive the highest quality of care as they bring new life into the world,” said Brian Long, FACHE, president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare. “This personalized, service-minded approach to care is what makes Memorial Healthcare a world-class leader in medicine, backed by the best-of-the-best practitioners, nurses, and support staff.”

Memorial Healthcare’s Family Birth Place serves over 400 families each year and offers new mothers the comforts of home from their Labor, Delivery and Recovery experience. Located on the hospital’s main campus, its Family Birth Place provides state-of-the-art private rooms for new mothers and families and parental education classes.
