Memorial Healthcare Expands Telemedicine Services in Response to COVID-19

As part of its ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) response efforts, Memorial Healthcare has expanded new telemedicine capabilities to address patient healthcare needs.

The new telemedicine services will enable Memorial Healthcare to provide the community with safe, high-quality care as it continues to devote more of its facilities and staff to COVID-19 diagnosis, testing, and treatment. These telemedicine services will help limit potential exposure to COVID-19 while allowing patients to receive professional medical consultation from home.

Now, patients can make appointments to see their Memorial Healthcare providers via video conference through a secure mobile or web application. Patients are asked to contact their Memorial Healthcare provider to schedule a telehealth appointment. Telehealth visits can provide safety for patients and providers, increase capacity, and reduce in-person visits during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Shiawassee County Health Department and Memorial Healthcare are asking anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to self-isolate for 14 days to avoid potentially exposing others. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. Symptoms may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure to the virus.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, people should wash their hands, stay home when they are sick, avoid close contact with sick people, disinfect commonly touched surfaces, and maintain social distancing.

The Memorial Healthcare Alternate Care Site is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for mild to moderate flu-like symptoms at 826 W. King St. Owosso, MI, 48867. For those with severe symptoms, county residents should call 9-1-1 or proceed to the emergency department. We ask that you call the Memorial Healthcare emergency department at (989) 723-5211 before your arrival if possible.
