About Dr. Anas Alsara, MD
Dr. Alsara is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, in Damascus, Syria. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois/Advocate Christ Medical Center, Illinois, and earned a fellowship in Medical Hematology/Oncology at Michigan State University.
Prior to joining Memorial Healthcare Cancer Center, Dr. Alsara was a Hematologist and Medical Oncologist at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He is also an Associate Professor at Michigan State University and is a published author of many research projects and publications in cancer research. Dr. Alsara is a member of several professional societies in America and Syria for hematology and oncology diseases.

Dr. Alsara is an excellent listener and will ensure that I am informed thoroughly of any detail that he either senses that I am confused about, or that I directly question the background of. It is so refreshing to be working with a man that, not only, respects my wishes and desires, but will freely collaborate on individualizing my treatment plan according to what was discussed. Dr. Alsara also readily interacts with my Spouse during appointments to make sure that we are not missing any important details related to my therapy or mental condition. When facing a highly deadly disease it is paramount to have providers on your care team that are; technically competent, have excellent discernment, effective at two way communication and dedicated to helping you achieve an optimal outcome. Dr. Alsara brings all of these qualities, with out ego and is a genuinely caring man. I am truly blessed to have him as my Oncologist as we take on this very difficult challenge.

I feel fortunate to have been brought into the initial evaluation phase so rapidly!
This Dr was amazing! I'm very impressed with his knowledge, thoroughness, and great bedside manner! He took the time to talk to my daughter who was with me and really make her feel comfortable with him as we also worked her concerns into the conversations as they relate to my health. This is a good one, don't lose him!
