ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP
An Alzheimer Support Group is held the fourth Wednesday of each month at Memorial Healthcare’s Lower Level Auditorium located at 826 W. King Street in Owosso. The group meets from 6-8 pm with refreshments provided. Questions can be directed to (989) 723-5211, ext. 1516.
BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUPS
Adult and child bereavement support is available the second Tuesday of each month from 6 pm to 7 pm. This support group is free of charge and is held at Memorial Healthcare’s West Campus located at 1975 W. M-21 in Owosso. Support groups for adults and children are separate but held at the same time. The adult group is faciliated by our Hospice Chaplain and the youth group is facilitated by a licensed master social worker. Both facilitators have many years of experience offering grief support. BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP – “THE PINK BRICK ROAD”
The breast cancer support group meets on the first Monday of each month at the Memorial Healthcare Comprehensive Cancer Center. The group meets in conjunction with the “Life Goes On” support group, with specific breast cancer support from 4:30 to 5:00 pm. This group is specifically for women who have had a diagnosis of cancer at some point in their lives including those undergoing treatment therapies. Support persons are welcome to attend this open, informative group. The group meets in the Community Room at the Cancer Center (721 N. Shiawassee Street, Owosso). CANCER SUPPORT GROUP – “LIFE GOES ON”
“Life Goes On” is presented by the Memorial Healthcare Cancer Center and your American Cancer Society. This is part of an educational program for people facing cancer—either personally, or as a friend or family caregiver—provided in a supportive environment. It is designed to help participants with selected aspects of their cancer experience by increasing their knowledge, positive attitudes, and skills. This meeting will include an informational segment that will help facilitate future meetings based on the needs of the group members. This group meets the first Monday of each month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. The content of the class will include education, social activities and guest speakers based on group needs. The meeting is held in the Community Room at Memorial’s Medical Arts Building, located at 721 N. Shiawassee Street, Owosso. Participants do not need a physician referral, but for planning purposes, please pre-register by calling (989) 729-4786.
DIABETES SUPPORT GROUPS:
These support groups are for individuals, family members and caregivers who deal with Type 2 diabetes. There is no cost or registration for attending. For either group, call (989) 729-4712 with any questions.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SELF HELP GROUP
A Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Support Group is held the first Tuesday of each month from 6 pm to 7 pm at Memorial’s Medical Arts Building, located at 721 N. Shiawassee (M-52), Owosso. Questions can be directed to (989) 288-5214.
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS & PARKINSON’S EXERCISE
A low-impact exercise program specifically geared for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease. Group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. or from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. The cost is $35 per month. Each class is designed specifically for the functioning level of the participant.
